Comparison of Threat Assessment Methods

May 20, 2014 Leave a comment dridrive

Speaker: Don Byrne, GRCS

Conducting a threat assessment is at the heart of continuity planning. But is there only one approach to analyzing risk? Is the method used to evaluate a bank’s exposure equally effective when applied to a school, hospital, or government agency? What techniques are available and which one is best? Importantly, does one provide more reliable information than another? This session will answer these questions by comparing popular threat assessment methods. The pros and cons of each will be explored and a way of ranking the different strategies presented. The session will close with a discussion of one method that has been certified for use by DHS, the GAO, and reviewed by the National Academy of Sciences.
