DRI International to Feature Global Experts in Business and Disaster Recovery Planning at 2015 Annual Conference

DRI2015_logoNEW YORK – January 27, 2015 — DRI International, the leading non-profit disaster recovery professional organization, has lined up a roster of well-recognized business continuity and disaster recovery experts from both the public and private sector for its annual DRI 2015 Conference, held at the Wyndham San Antonio Riverwalk March 1-4, 2015. The annual conference will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions and work group sessions designed to foster the meaningful exchange of ideas and best practices among business continuity, disaster recovery, and risk management professionals across all industries and around the world.

Below are a few highlights of sessions scheduled for the four-day event:

  • Boston Marathon Bombings: The Incident Commander Shares Lessons Learned,” Kurt N. Schwartz, Homeland Security and Emergency Management.
  • How to Assess Vendor Resiliency: An Advanced Supply Chain Session,” Melinda Rahe, Dell Inc.
  • Beyond the War Story: NYU Langone Medical Center’s Business Continuity Case Study,” Mitchell Simon, NYU Langone Medical Center and Dennis Schrader, DRI International.
  • Event Management: Got the Right Tools?” Tonya York, Kathryne Estrada, Jayne Johnson, and Cheryl LaTouche, McKesson Corporation.

“We’ve put together an extraordinary program this year,” said DRI President and CEO Al Berman. “As a non-profit, we rely on our community of Certified Professionals to volunteer their time and ideas. We’ve assembled an excellent roster of speakers with a wealth of real-life, relevant experiences to share. We’re looking forward to another great conference.”

Participants can also attend special Risk Management and Technology tracks for an in-depth, interactive educational experience.

In addition, attendees can take advantage of the following opportunities:

  • On-Site Pre-Conference Courses: From Thursday, February 26, through Sunday, March 1, DRI will offer a series of intensive, business continuity courses for professionals who are relatively new to the industry as well as professionals who seek to add to their credentials or renew their certifications.
  • Earn CEAPs: Professionals can earn a maximum of 54 Continuing Education Activity Points (CEAPs) for attending the conference, courses and volunteer day.
  • Volunteer Day: Participants who volunteer with the DRI Foundation at the San Antonio Food Bank on Saturday, February 28, or Wednesday, March 4, can give back to the host community, earn CEAPs, and network with fellow conference attendees.

The winners in 14 categories of the DRI Awards of Excellence will be announced at a Gala Event on Tuesday evening, March 3. The Gala will be preceded by an Auction Benefit, the proceeds of which will benefit the DRI Foundation, the charitable arm of DRI International, organized to help create resilient communities worldwide.
