Toward Resilience: The Relationship between Risk Management and Business Continuity

As we specialize and professionalize, it is natural that industries create silos of expertise. In many ways, this enables organizations to operate at a high level and accomplish a variety of tasks and projects with aplomb.  In times of disruption, this siloed approach can create challenges that can be detrimental to business recovery.  An example is the separation of risk management and business continuity into separate departments. However, the new demands upon BC Planners and Risk Managers are changing the approach to both disciplines and doing a convergence of them. In this session, we will analyze how these disciplines interact, their current practices, and how to set-up a strategy in your BC’s or RM’s program that allow a convergence toward a higher resilience of your organization.
