Held at the site of the 11 March 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami, the conference is expected to attract up to 8,000 attendees with the goal of building the resilience of nations and communities to disasters.
DRI President and CEO Alan Berman, Executive Director Chloe Demrovsky, and DRI Japan Chairman Kanryu Nagase will address participants at an exclusive event titled: “Implementing Resilience with Private-Sector Partnerships through Business Continuity” on Saturday, March 14, 3:00-5:00 p.m. at the Sendai Civic Auditorium, Meeting Room 2.
During the session, they will discuss what steps can be taken to protect communities around the world against the immediate threats of high-impact weather events and other types of disasters. The session will focus on maintaining the long-term health of the small- and medium-sized enterprises that are integral to the Japanese economy.
Following the event, DRI will release a white paper on best practices in the design of public-private partnerships for resilience. The document will synthesize the viewpoints of the panel of experts from Japan and the United States. DRI International and DRI Japan will also have an exhibition booth at the Sendai Mediatheque.
