Disaster Recovery Institute Announces DRI Scholarship Award
NEW YORK – April 23, 2015 – DRI Foundation, the charitable arm of Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRI), has established the DRI Scholarship Award to help defray the cost of higher education while supporting DRI’s efforts to raise awareness of the need for corporate, government and personal preparedness. Eligible high school seniors in the United States and Canada may apply for the $5,000 scholarship award online.
The scholarship is open to college-bound high school seniors whose parent or legal guardian is a DRI Certified Professional in good standing. As part of the application process, applicants are asked to research and write a 1500-word essay on what they can do to contribute to preparedness in their local communities.
“The application process is designed to benefit every applicant by encouraging a dialogue about community preparedness,” said Al Berman, DRI International President and CEO. “We also hope to learn from these essays by gaining insight into how the next generation of leaders views the world from preparedness perspective.”
