DRI Welcomes New Board Member: Ray Seid
DRI International is proud to welcome Ray Seid, Director of Business Continuity Service at McKesson, as a member of the Board of Directors!
“I am excited to be part of the board as we continue to raise awareness of the Professional Practices’ purpose foundationally for professionals and corporations to leverage as a blueprint for career and corporate recovery success!” Seid said.
Seid has been with McKesson just short of eight years. For the last two years, he has been focused on delivering business continuity services for McKesson Business Units companywide, implementing governance, BIA(s) and recovery plans. He leads a team of internal BC consultants focused on delivery.
He is also an active volunteer member of the Alpharetta, Georgia Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), and a DRI Certified Instructor. Seid holds Master Business Continuity Professional (MBCP), Certified Business Continuity Lead Auditor (CBCLA), Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMP) and Health Care Provider (CHPCP) certifications.
DRI: What does joining the board mean to you?
RS: Joining the board has always been a career goal working in the BC/DR industry. I started my career focused by obtaining DRI certification. I plan on continuing bringing my experiences from the field and working face-to-face with pre-certified students as an instructor to increase awareness. There are still many people who do not realize what the Professional Practices can do for their company’s recovery posture.
DRI: What do you hope to accomplish?
RS: I would like to add more to the educational experience at DRI and focus on ensuring each student has a meaningful industry experience and continues to elevate career goals by holding multiple certifications.
DRI: What are your thoughts about DRI and how it serves the profession?
RS: I have always regarded DRI as the foundation to the BC/DR industry, over the past few years the company continues to grow within and outside the US as do the occurrences and impact of disasters (cyber or otherwise). DRI will continue to lead in the industry as we help others prepare and recover from disastrous events.
