A volunteer committee of industry leaders gathered to review and vote on a standard set of terms and definitions from 2,189 unique terms and 22 different reference documents. The result is a living document made from a common set of universal terms designed to reduce confusion, remove inconsistencies, and facilitate coordination between parties.
“As the oldest and largest nonprofit organization of its kind, DRI International is the industry thought leader and service is our mission,” said Chloe Demrovsky, DRI President and CEO. “Our Certified Professionals and the greater resilience community look to us for guidance. When we were asked to offer a DRI glossary, we accepted the challenge.”
“For those of you familiar with the glossary, you will notice some changes, both to format and content. Our intent was to make the glossary more readable, easier to access, and consequently, more usable to those in the resilience community,” said Dean Gallup, MBCP and Chair of the Glossary Committee.
