DRI Hosts Networking Events for Young Leaders in Resilience
The DRI Young Leaders in Resilience (YLR) Committee – created to serve risk management and related disciplines through developing and supporting relationships amongst its practitioners – provided two social opportunities in May for networking among its members and welcoming guests, both of which were rousing successes.
On May 1, New Haven, CT’s Cask Republic hosted the first YLR happy hour in the area. About 20 attendees from various sectors joined the event. BCM professionals shared their experiences about working in the business continuity field during recent disasters. Given the positive feedback of this first social event in the CT area, the YLR Committee is excitedly planning its next event.
The New York YLR event at B Bar and Grill on May 9 was also well-attended, despite the threat of rain. It was the inaugural event for the committee’s newest members, Chance Gregg, Amanda Coats, and Stephanie Kalele, who have already proven to be valuable additions to the group by sharing their unique experiences as BCM professionals.
“I am so thrilled to have our first event of the year with the newest Young Leaders in Resilience,” said Kelsey Rose, Committee Liaison and DRI Director of Global Operations. “These events and the community that they inspire are always the highlight of my quarter. I look forward to seeing what our new committee members have in store for our professionals in New York.”
Mark your calendars now and join the DRI Young Leaders in Resilience for upcoming 2019 happy hour events! Save these dates for upcoming NYC meetings:
The YLR Committee will send out more info as it becomes available, so be on the lookout for official invitations as we get closer to the dates in question!
