New York, NY- September 15, 2015 – Today, DRI International, the world’s foremost business continuity certification and education organization, unveils the “Hub of Resilience” and “Resilient Enterprise” awards, both official “standard of excellence” designations. The “Resilient Enterprise” will be awarded to entities recognized for extraordinary commitment to areas of Business Continuity Management (BCM), including emergency management, business continuity, disaster recovery, and crisis management. Recipients of the “Hub of Resilience” award will not only show a dedication to making their organization resilient, but also will serve as a center for providing information, education and thought leadership to their community and industry.

Both award designations follow stringent accreditation criterion that identifies core factors of extraordinary commitment and demonstrated capability to advocating for resilience. Eligibility is open to those institutions that want to be recognized for their dedication to working with their peers, communities and industry leaders to be more prepared to deal with adversity.

Organizations seeking accreditation must demonstrate preparedness by contributing personnel, materials, technical and management advice to aid others within their industry. A designated hub or center must provide both outreach and dissemination of resources, in addition to serving as a center for education sharing that will provide informative and educational seminars, webinars and training support for preparedness.

“Running parallel to National Preparedness Month, this accreditation effort provides organizations the opportunity to become an industry-certified extension of DRI,” added Berman. “Our goal is to help inform organizations of the importance of preparedness and create a certified network that shares the highest-level of management and governance and strives for continuous improvement.”

An extensive approval process and qualifying protocols help to ensure the appropriate level of knowledge and proficiency of an entity’s Business Continuity Management program; including an onsite inspection of the company, credentials, ethical practices, and BCM training records / documentation, followed by an interview.
