A Ghoulishly Good Time at the DRI Young Leaders in Resilience October Networking Event

November 2, 2017 Leave a comment DRI Admin

DRI’s Young Leaders in Resilience group enjoyed a festive networking happy hour on Oct. 26 at the B Bar and Grill in New York City, which was decked out for Halloween.

As an activity, attendees played a variation on Bingo, where they were given cards with questions and told to seek out answers from one another. Questions included:

  • What’s your dream resilience job?
  • Which fictional character best represents what you do?
  • What’s one thing from work that has changed your life outside the office?
  • What is one thing you learned this hurricane season?
  • What motivates you to go to work every day?

The winner was James, who works for the Salvation Army. Asked what the favorite answer he received was, he pointed to “Which hazard are you most curious about?” Cyber attacks was his favorite answer because it’s a hazard that doesn’t typically occur to him. He is more accustomed to considering tangible hazards like fire – though it’s become clear in recent times that a cyber attack has potential to do just as much if not more damage!
