DRI Young Leaders in Resilience Screen Disaster Documentary
This past week, DRI’s Young Leaders in Resilience were proud to host the New York premiere of Built to Last?, a documentary examining the resilience of houses in the face of modern disasters.
Built to Last? was produced through the efforts of Resilience Action Fund, a non-profit founded and chaired by Aris Papadopoulos. While Aris was unable to attend the event due to a conflict in schedule, the evening began with a personalized message from him. For more information on Built to Last? and the work of the Resilience Action Fund, you can visit built2last.org and buildingresilient.com.
The screening was hosted by New York City Emergency Management (NYCEM). Guests were briefed on NYCEM and its Emergency Operations Center were the film was shown.
Following the film, the group headed across the park for our usual networking happy hour. During this event, we also held an informational session for those who are looking to become involved with the committee. If you were unable to make it but are interested in becoming involved with YLR (regardless of location) please send your information to firstname.lastname@example.org.
